This campground is in a location that is convenient to San Diego, but unfortunately, my experience was marred by a lack of transparency about the site assignments and the amenities. The facilities on the overflow side were quite disappointing, and there were maintenance issues that detracted from our stay. I wish I had been informed beforehand about the state of the laundry and the crossover situation before arriving.

The RV spots we ended up with had minimal services, just water and power, and we were lucky to get that. The situation definitely impacted our overall comfort.
Service

Service at check-in was fine, but the lack of follow-up on our request for a full hookup was frustrating. I expected better communication.
Location

The campground is very close to San Diego, which was great. However, being so close to the border meant we experienced some unsettling moments with border patrol activities nearby.

Facilities were lacking. The laundry was out of order during our stay, and the garbage dumpster was overflowing. The pool was across the street, adding inconvenience.

My experience at this campground was quite disappointing. The facilities were poorly maintained and cleanliness was a major issue. While the south side had nice amenities like pools, the north side felt neglected and unsafe. Also, the check-in process was extremely slow and unorganized. Overall, it didn't feel like a reliable place for families.

The site we were assigned to felt very rundown, resembling a trailer park more than a campground. It definitely lacked the comfort and cleanliness I expected.
Service
5.0
The check-in took an unreasonably long time, and there seemed to be little to no management oversight regarding issues raised during our stay.
Location
5.0
While the location has potential, being close to San Diego is its only redeeming quality, as the campground itself had serious maintenance issues.

The amenities on the south side like the pools were well-maintained, but the north side had numerous problems including dirty bathrooms and lots of bugs.

I had a mixed experience at the RV park. On one hand, the full hookup sites were well-maintained, and the bathrooms were super clean, which I appreciated. However, the landscaping seemed neglected due to the drought, and several amenities were not available during my stay. Overall, it wasn't a bad spot if you're primarily day tripping, but it lacked the charm for a longer stay.

Rooms

The full hookup sites were decent but mostly dirt and sand with tall weeds. While it was functional, it wasn't the most appealing setup.
Service

The staff was quick to address issues, and they seemed congenial while doing so.

The park was conveniently located not far from other attractions, but the lack of nearby cell service in the park was a drawback.

Although the bathrooms were super clean, many amenities like pools and bathrooms were closed without explanation, which was frustrating.

I had a mixed experience at this park. On the bright side, the community was friendly, and I loved the activity center, which included a library and a craft fair where I even sold some of my crafts. However, the lack of cell and internet service was a downside, and my stay was impacted when I had noisy neighbors who made it difficult to relax. Overall, it has its charm but also some significant drawbacks.

While the park is lovely, the lack of cell and internet service is something to consider. I could only get a signal in a small area behind the youth center.

The activity center was a highlight with a library and a craft fair on Saturdays, which added a fun touch to my stay.

My stay at Pio Pico RV Resort was quite a mixed bag. While I ended up enjoying the southern section with full hookups, the initial experience on the northern side was far from ideal. The check-in process was lengthy and disorganized, with a strong odor of pet waste lingering in some areas. Despite the frustrations, I found the south side to be clean and comfortable, but the overall experience left me hesitant to return due to the initial hassles.

Rooms

After moving to the south side, the spot was spacious and had all the necessary hookups, making it comfortable for our stay.
Service

The customer service was lacking; the check-in process was chaotic and poorly organized.
Location

Although the resort is situated away from the hustle and bustle, the north side felt less welcoming with poorly maintained RVs around.
Dining
Facilities

Amenities on the north side were limited, and several restrooms were closed for upgrades, which created inconvenience.
